ALMECO ORDERS A COIL
ANODIZING LINE

ALMECO SPA has entered into a contract with Globus SRL for the turn-key supply and erection of a Continuous Anodizing Line for Aluminium Coils.

ALMECO produces material for lighting, solar and decorative applications. The line will be installed at ALMECO's facility near Milano, Italy and marks Globus' expansion into a new market segment, different from the traditional organic coil coating lines which has made Globus a brand name in the market.

The Anodizing Line developed for ALMECO will include an alkaline cleaning section, followed by an etching process (whose dwell time can be adjusted independently from process speed), a de-smutting section and the actual anodizing section. The process is completed by an electro-coloring section with the relevant hot sealing.

The line will process strips having width up to 2,000 mm and a maximum thickness of 3 mm to be used for high-end architectural applications. The line is scheduled to start the hot test phase in early 2018.
