NEW COATING LINE
IN SPAIN

The Spanish company Vinalopó Aluminio Color SL awarded Globus a contract for the supply of aluminum Coil Coating and Finishing Lines for their new plant. The green field site project will be located near Alicante, Spain, and will be producing coated metal to be used mostly for the fabrication of roller shutters. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in July 2018.

The two key production units supplied by Globus will be one Continuous Coil Coating Line and one Slitting Line. The Coating Line will process aluminum coils with a thickness in the 0.18 – 1.50 mm range and width between 800 and 1650 mm at a maximum line speed of 60 m/min. The Coating Section will have a Prime Coater and two Finish Coaters with the ability of changing colors on the fly and printing Woodgrain patterns.

Due to the shortage of water in the area, the line will feature a "zero discharge" Cleaning Section, which greatly reduces the water consumption and a Dry-In-Place Chemical Coater Pretreatment Technology: the combination of these solutions will greatly reduce the overall environmental impact of the installation. Particular attention has also been paid to the design of the Ovens / VOC Treatment System, which allows for the recovery of the energy produced by the VOC combustion and its subsequent usage in the curing process, thereby achieving a significant reduction in the fuel consumption, related CO2 emissions and carbon footprint.

The Slitting Line will slit the coated coils produced on the Coating Line in up to 30 narrower strips at a maximum process speed of 150 m/min. This contract confirms the role of Globus as a leading supplier of complete lines or individual equipment for the coil coating industry, through the supply of numerous coating installations to various European and non-European customers.
